caption competition
Welcome to the Ship of Fools Caption Competition, which runs on an... ahem... irregular schedule. Read and post in our current competition, and see the winners of our past ones.

Budgies and travellers on the road to San José are especially welcome.
Rollercoaster religion
It was rather useful to have a long and informative chat with our Fr Boustrophedon, fortified by a mug of broccoli, turnip and rhubarb juice, freshly squeezed by hand by Gladys Anstruthers (Mrs), in our conservatory which houses the prolific aspidistra so generously donated by the local W.I. in 1927. There were croutons, of course. In the juice, not in the aspidistra. But we have to fight our way through it in order to find a chair. Through the aspidistra, not through the juice. It seems that Fred Gilbert is now His Eminence Frederick IV, Metropolitan of the Reformed Antipodean Mar Thoma Church of Utrecht and the Outer Philippines. His Astopolic [sic] Succession, he claims, is via Frederick Samuel Willoughby. To what extent James Wedgwood and Charles Leadbeater were involved in this succession is perhaps irrelevant to ask. It is such a pity, though, that Leadbeater’s pupil Krishnamurti decided not to walk across the waters of our Sydney Harbour but, instead, went awff to the USA to become famous. Nor do I ask in what manner an Aspitrigla cuculus managed to elope with, or at least become a pen-pal with, a Chaunacops, in view of the distance between their personal aquascapes. Can it be that bottom burrowing has such power to bring them together over thousands of kilometres?
