Thought for the day, from St Thomas’ Church in Washington DC.

The day being the one when Donald Trump retweeted three anti-Islamic propaganda videos posted by Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of far-right group Britain First.

Fransen’s twitter profile reads: ‘Faithful to God and Britannia. “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first” John 15:18.’ She could have quoted another verse a few chapters earlier in the same Gospel (John 11:35): ‘Jesus wept’.
